Graphic maker John Childs
There's little that Edstrom’s vehicle graphics specialist, John Childs can’t do for customers. What ever the specification or design to customise a vehicle exterior, John can usually provide it.
Obviously, vans large or small are a permanent moving advertisement for a company. They’ve been bought and paid for so advertising is virtually free from then on. And with over fourteen years experience, John can take a drawing (fag packet sketches are not unknown) of any shape body and produce graphics to suit.
There is a substantial IT presence in both office and production area. As he explained, “Many customers are very concerned about image. Their corporate identity is all important so we are well used to receiving files in Mac or PC format from which images are developed to suit the size and shape of the vehicles and the materials we use”.
A good long term example of John’s expertise is the logo for fork truck specialists Linde for whom the same logo has been replicated for each of the many vehicles converted by Edstrom over the last twelve years.
The graphics together with the shelving, racking and other components installed by Edstrom customises a standard van into just what the customer wants. Basically, it’s ready for what every day use throws (or collides) with it. “We’re not trying to be funny”, John explained. “Unfortunately, vehicles do get damaged. Everything we’ve done is in our system so we can quickly located and re-produced what is required which can be applied to the repaired vehicle at the body shop or here if preferred. When the vans are replaced, the graphics are removable and we can replicate the designs for application to their replacements”.
The provision of a total vehicles graphics service is just one of the many segments within the comprehensive package provided by Edstrom. One van or hundreds, its not a problem. Simple lettering to involved images using practically any and every colour that a customer might want, across the whole body, is a possibility.
